As a Midwest, American born Latina woman, Kendell Lopez is the first Hispanic American Nascar Driver. She represents the diversity the nation has become. Hailing from Independence, Missouri, Lopez is a strong representative of the American Dream. She became interested in racing when she was just 12 years old. One summer vacation, her dad participated in the Richard Petty driving school in Disney World and from that day forward she was hooked.
